Three observations from my vacation in Europe last summer.
First: During a week in Paris, I never saw one of the much vaunted “sanisettes,” the self-contained, self-cleaning, unisex, public toilets. My conclusion: the French have advanced stealth technology that renders these “facilities” effectively invisible.
Second: Europeans are apparently too poor to afford properly cut, torn, worn or shredded jeans. They are forced to wear new, intact jeans, which I suppose they sell to Americans for a nice mark-up once the jeans are adequately distressed.
Third: At the kabob-doner shop on Paris’s Place de la Republique, one of the sauces offered is “American sauce.” Upon inquiry, the owner explained that “American sauce” is a mixture of catsup and mayonnaise.
