After one episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey showed Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga's dad sipping hot sauce straight out of the bottle, fans had questions. Why, exactly, was Nonno swigging the spicy stuff like it was no big deal? Well, now we have our answer.
In The Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show clip above, Melissa Gorga settled the score. Addressing her father-in-law's curiously spicy habit, the Envy Boutique owner confirmed that the hot-sauce sip wasn't a one-off; it's something Nonno does "all the time." And that's not it.
"He swallows things all the [time]," Melissa said. "Red vinegar, he'll just open the [bottle] and just drink the red vinegar. Hot pepper juice. He believes it cures all sickness and illness when he does this." But this medicine goes down easily. "He enjoys it," Melissa confirmed. "He feels like it gives him a little [something]. He goes, ah, feels good ... He says it kills all the germs."
Who are we to judge? "Listen," Margaret Josephs pointed out, "maybe he's onto something." And maybe he is! Though he's been admitted to the hospital with pneumonia several times, "he fights off sickness a lot," Melissa said.
