Jakarta MRT Ticket Price to be Announced Next Month

Jakarta: Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has said that the Jakarta provincial administration will announce the price scheme of the Jakarta mass rapid transit (MRT) project next month.

"It will be announced around mid to late February," the former education minister said here on Thursday.

"We are planning to synergize all modes of transportation," he said.

The first phase of the MRT project will connect Lebak Bulus and Bundaran Hotel Indonesia. It will consist of 7 elevated stations and 6 underground stations.

For the Lebak Bulus-Bundaran Hotel Indnesia route, region-owned company PT MRT Jakarta has ordered 16 trainsets. According to PT MRT Jakarta construction director Silvia Halim, the project has entered the final stage.

"The progress has reached 98.59 percent," the PT MRT Jakarta official told reporters a day earlier.

"We will gradually remove the temporary fences from February until March," she said.
