Smaller dog breeds are commonly known to put up a tough act. Their loud, yappy barks make up for their shorter stature. But no matter what tough facade they put on, there usually is a cuddle bug deep down inside.
That is evident in a recent clip of a Pomeranian named Tinkerbell. This small dog was playing with her stuffed gingerbread toy, loving on it and smothering it with kisses. She quickly switched gears when she noticed her owner was watching her.
Tinkerbell had to remind her owner that she is not nice. She does not give out kisses. She's a big, tough, and totally in charge dog.
The owner started laughing at Tinkerbell in the October 31 TikTok video. As soon as Tinkerbell heard that laugh, she knew she had been caught. She immediately shifted to her tough girl act, biting the toy and dragging it from side to side.
It wasn't just the gumdrop; it was the end of the poor, sweet gingerbread toy in that household.
Despite standing between six and seven inches and weighing about three to seven pounds, Pomeranians do not hold back. This toy dog breed gives off commanding big-dog demeanor, according to the American Kennel Club, which is not uncommon for smaller breeds. Small dogs are more excitable and pugnacious, which means they are more likely to bark or growl.
Pomeranians are easy to train and make great watchdogs. They are very alert dogs who will likely react to any potential threat whether that is a squirrel scurrying across the front yard or a stranger entering the house.
What the Comments Say
Viewers are cracking up at this dog's behavior and how she quickly changes the moment she realizes her owner is watching. One would think it would be the opposite with Tinkerbell acting tough until her mom noticed and she had to be nice.
But clearly, Tinkerbell did not care about maintaining her sweet image. She wanted her owner to know she is still the toughest dog in the house. The video creator referred to Tinkerbell in the comment section as lovely but has anger issues.
"What an angel in disguise," commented one TikTok user.
