There's a reason why the Hollywood elite flock to Carbone in New York: it's just that good. The Greenwich Village haunt and its newer outposts—in Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Miami, and Dallas—boast A-list regulars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and Serena Williams, among others.
Here's the thing, though: for us mere mortals, the celeb-loved hotspot—which made its debut on Thompson Street back in 2013—is among the city's most difficult to snag reservations. Which is also probably why Carbone decided to launch a line of products you can buy straight from the grocery store. And while the initial few rollouts were worth the hype, its owners, Major Food Group, have spent years developing a jarred version of its most beloved sauce: spicy vodka.
Carbone Fine Food officially dropped its Spicy Vodka Sauce so you can recreate the beloved Spicy Rigatoni Pasta at home and cosplay as one of the rich and famous. In addition to the Spicy Vodka release, the brand is also adding two new pizza sauces to its roster: an Original and Spicy iteration, made from Italian tomatoes, fresh onions, garlic, and spices.
"With our continued commitment to using only the highest-quality ingredients, combined with the expertise of our Chef partners in Mario and Rich, Carbone Fine Food has quickly become a standout brand in a crowded market with record category growth," CEO Eric Skae said in a press release. "The release of Spicy Vodka presents a tremendous opportunity for growth and the highly sought after recipe is now available to fans of the brand nationwide.”
Since opening its doors a decade ago, Carbone has welcomed the likes of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Barack Obama, David and Victoria Beckham, Drake, Kendall Jenner, and so many more. According to Mario Carbone himself, the Spicy Rigatoni Pasta is the obvious crowd favorite. "[It's] arguably our most popular dish," the restauranteur and chef said.
The sauce will be available starting in July, along with Carbone's new original and spicy pizza sauces. At first, all the jars will only be for sale on Carbone's website and Amazon.
