CLEVELAND, Ohio – As we all continue to shelter in place for another month, Ohio families keep stocking their pantries and freezers with staples for quick and easy meals.
Whether you’re making a quick lunch of spaghetti or would like to cook a big pan of lasagna for dinner, jarred pasta sauces are a popular item families are grabbing. And with the increased demand, favorite brands are not always available at your neighborhood grocer these days.
We can help. We’ve taken the guesswork out of trying a new brand of pasta sauce.
Last September, reporters Yadi Rodriguez and Brenda Cain conducted a massive taste test of every brand of pasta sauce we could find in every major grocery chain and big box store – 174 jars of sauce in all. Click the link above to see the rankings.
Cain and Rodriguez purchased up to two varieties of pasta sauce by every brand. If a brand offered a marinara, that was their first selection. The sauces ranged in price from 85 cents(!) to $12.99.
