Ah, the joys of small business ownership. We believe it can be joyful, should be joyful. We have the strategies and the knowledge to make it so. You can learn how to double your income? Want to stop working so many hours, perhaps take three days weekends as a matter of routine? We believe you have that option. Yes indeed, all the know how you might ever need to go from working IN your business, to working ON your business, to really OWNING your business, and loving it, is available. It’s out there. You only need ask and it’s yours.

This guy did it. “Hey, I quadrupled my income and cut my work time down to just one week a month. It’s really great. Sure, I did all the work to implement the necessary changes in my business model. I just needed someone to show me how. And I firmly believe anyone can do this once they learn how.”

Here’s the deal. There is a crank on your business. And you or your employees and partners can turn that crank. And when that happens … out pours money. That’s what is supposed to happen. If that’s not happening for you, then you really don’t have a business. What you have is a job, or worse, an expensive hobby. And you might want to change that. And you can.

If you want to double your business income, or reduce the time you spend working, then you must change your BUSINESS BEHAVIOR. Or maybe you just want to be somehow happier with your business. Same thing. Change your business behavior.

BUSINESS BEHAVIOR is the things you SAY and the things you DO at work that are supposed to generate money. That’s the crank turning stuff.

Where do you begin to change your BUSINESS BEHAVIOR? You begin with CLARITY and FOCUS. How do you do that? By asking and answering a few simple sounding questions, questions you may need some outside perspective to fully, and in a helpful way, really answer. Here are the questions:

1. WHAT do you want? 2. WHY do you want that? 3. In what ways would getting what you want improve your life? 4. How FEASIBLE is getting what you want? 5. How would you KNOW if you had it? 6. Along the way to getting what you want, what can you TRACK, MEASURE or COUNT to assess progress or lack of same? 7. HOW can you go about actually getting what you want? What’s the STRATEGY? What are the TACTICS? What’s the STEP BY STEP plan?

Once you have good answers to these seven questions, you’re ready for the kicker: DESCRIBE THE BEHAVIOR. What will you SAY? What will you DO?

Yes, you can do all this. We know how. It’s not rocket science. Set a deadline and get going. Ask for help if you need it.
