Usher creates new Quibi dance show ‘The Sauce’ featuring Ayo and Teo - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Quibi, which launches next month as the latest streaming service, will introduce an Usher-produced dance competition show called “The Sauce.”

The show will run 10-minute episodes. That’s the twist with Quibi. No particular episode will run longer than that - like the early days of YouTube.

The Atlanta R&B star Usher will be a judge brothers and Atlanta-based dancers Ayo and Teo  will serve as hosts. They went viral with their own dance videos in 2016.

They will have talent compete head to head in various cities.

In a press release, Usher said: “Dance continues to drive much of our popular culture in increasingly more meaningful ways, and I can’t wait to help these young dancers express their extraordinary talent and vision. I’m excited to be working with Quibi and The Front, who share my vision for cutting-edge, culture-forward content and have created an innovative platform to recognize incredibly gifted dancers from across the nation.”

Quibi, funded by film producer Jeffrey Katzenberg and eBay found Meg Whitman, will have no shortage of short-form reality series in the coming year, many with major names attached.

Others include:

- “Chrissy’s Court” - a “Judge Judy” show where “judge” Chrissie Teigen decides small-claim court cases.

- “Singled Out” - A revival of the MTV show featuring Keke Palmer and Joel Kim Booster.

- “Punk’d” - Another revival of an MTV show now hosted by Chance the Rapper.

- “Elba vs. Block” - Idris Elba takes part in driving challenges.

- “Biggest Little Cook-Off” - Andy Samberg hosts a cooking show where folks try to create the best single bite.

- Former Atlantan Scooter Braun, who has overseen Justin Bieber, will host a new music competition show.

Quibi, which will also feature scripted shows, will launch April 6 at $4.99 a month with ads, $7.99 without.
