Sauce Restaurant Donates More than 2,000 Pizzas to Hospitals - Bowery Boogie

Popular local Italian joint, Sauce Restaurant, is donating hundreds of pizza pies to hospitals around New York City.

It all started when a nurse from an unidentified hospital called to order a pizza. She reportedly expressed that staff was working long shifts caring for COVID-19 intake, and not eating enough. And that most restaurants were no longer open.

The situation inspired Sauce.

Their aim is lofty – cooking 300 pies daily for area health care workers. And so far, as of yesterday, Sauce has donated upwards of 2,000 pizzas to more than a half-dozen facilities.

In the meantime, Sauce is taking orders from customers who wish to donate. Head to the website for more info.

Below are the hospitals on the list:

Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s, New York Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell Hospital, NYU Cancer Center, NYU Langone/Bellevue, Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, New York Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan, New York Methodist Hospital Brooklyn, Maimonides Brooklyn, Lenox Hill Hospital, Harlem Hospital NYC Health + Hospitals, and Montefiore
