A Texas-based hot sauce brand just reached a coveted milestone: A feature in the hot sauce lineup on "Hot Ones."
Austin's Yellowbird Foods developed an exclusive hot sauce for the 16th season of "Hot Ones," landing the second spot in the web series' new lineup.
For the uninitiated, "Hot Ones" is a web talk show where host Sean Evans forces his subjects to eat progressively spicier chicken wings while answering questions. Evans has scored interviews with countless celebrities, including Gordon Ramsay, Billie Eilish, RiFF RAFF, Natalie Portman, Matthew McConaughey and JJ Watt.
Evans was particularly excited about the Yellowbird addition to the newest hot sauce roster.
"Years ago, I was at a Mexican restaurant," Evans said in a video announcing the sauces "Hot Ones" will use in its upcoming season. "I saw this squeeze bottle technology right on the table, put it on the burrito. It was Yellowbird's habanero sauce, one of the best hot sauces that I've ever had in my life. So I'm excited to welcome Yellowbird to the table."
Yellowbird's "Bliss & Vinegar" sauce is made with red serrano peppers, strawberries, coconut and a hint of cinnamon to create a more "mellow burn." Since Bliss and Vinegar falls early in the lineup, it's unlikely to bring tears to a celebrity's eyes.
