Zinc Media Group label Red Sauce is scaling up its production and development teams after securing a 52-hour commission from UK broadcaster Channel 5.
The commission, the largest volume deal ever received by a Zinc Media label, follows a recently announced 10-part series order of Special Ops: Crime Squad UK for UKTV-owned channel Dave.
Observational docuseries Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun — Costa Living (pictured; 40 x 60 minutes) marks the single largest commission of the BLB brand.To be produced by Red Sauce in Manchester, the series charts the lives of Brits who have swapped the UK for life in Spain.
Channel 5 has also recommissioned Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun (6 x 60 minutes, the Spain-based original) and Bargain Loving Brits by the Sea (the UK-based spin off, 6 x 60 minutes), which are already in production.
Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun – Costa Living was commissioned for Channel 5 by Denise Seneviratne. It is executive produced by Ben Smith for Red Sauce at Zinc Media.
Red Sauce launched in September 2020.
