ALBANY — Veteran regional chef Ric Orlando continues his expansion into the world of packaged food products with a new pair of barbecue sauces made in collaboration with Nine Pin Cider Works.
Made with Nine Pin's ciders, the sauce are available in Signature, said to be sweet and tangy, and Ginger, described as "dark and complex, with a little bite." They will be introduced at a launch event from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Nine Pin's headquarters in the city's warehouse district.
The menu includes tacos, pizza, pulled pork and noodles, all incorporating one of the sauces, with items priced from $6 to $15.
“I have been drinking and cooking with Nine Pin Cider since their launch" in 2014, Orlando said in a statement. "I love this stuff, so it makes perfect sense for us to partner up on these two deliciously addictive sauces,”
The Orlando-Nine Pin barbecue sauces cost about $10 per 12-ounce bottle and are available at the Nine Pin tasting room and online via Orlando's site, and they will be rolling out to retail stores in the coming weeks.
Nine Pin is at 895 Broadway.
