The behavior of the vast majority of Congressional Republicans continues to be extremely alarming.
Across the nation GOP judges, election officials and state level office holders have affirmed Joe Biden's victory. Unless you believe they have been complicit in a conspiracy that defies all credulity, Biden is the president elect.
And yet, 126 GOP national officeholders signed on to a frivolous lawsuit rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court that called for nullifying millions of votes in four states, while most other congressional Republicans remain silent in the face of Biden's incontestable victory. This speaks volumes: the clearest indication yet that the GOP is no longer "the party of Lincoln."
Like the fire-eating confederates of an earlier era, they have chosen party, power and self-interest over the Constitution, the electoral process and democracy itself. It was treasonous in 1860-61, and it is treasonous now — outrageous and utterly shameful.
