TAMMS (WSIL) -- On Monday night, a school board in Alexander County heard from parents and teachers about questionable behavior at the school's prom. That bad behavior not from the students, but allegedly the school staff working as chaperones for the kids.
A video provided to News 3 shows how much fun everyone was having the night of May 8th. Egyptian Basketball Coach Allen Pearman says the video shows questionable behavior by one of the chaperones.
"There were some teachers drinking at the prom. And I have two students, two of my own children who were at that prom. I do not agree with that," he says.
The school board called a special meeting and invited the coach, parents and students to speak with them in closed session. An Anna-Jonesboro parent whose daughter attended the prom as a date for one of the students tells News 3 his concerns.
"Why aren't the teachers and the principals and vice-principal, superintendent, whoever is all held accountable just like a student would be if they were caught doing the same thing-I think that they are supposed to set an example," says Jimmy Gore.
The Port Cape Girardeau Restaurant and Lounge where the prom was held denies any alcohol was served at the prom.
The school board met in closed session about personel decisions, but it's unclear if anything was decided.
