Jakarta: Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Agus Maftuh Abegebriel has confirmed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman (MBS) will travel to Indonesia next week.

"He will visit Indonesia next week. He will arrive on February 19," the Indonesian diplomat told Medcom.id on Wednesday.

Indonesia was the guest of honour during the 33rd Janadriyah festival. The event was held in Saudi Arabia from December 2018 until January 2019.

The Janadriyah festival is the biggest cultural event in Saudi Arabia. The annual festival is organized by the Saudi National Guard.

"I appreciate Indonesia's commitment to make this event successful"said National Guard Minister Prince Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin in a written statement received by Medcom.id.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud visited Indonesia in March 2017. King Salman and President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo held a bilateral meeting at the Bogor Palace.

During the meeting, President Jokowi asked King Salman to protect Indonesian migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. Besides that, he also thanked the king for increasing Indonesia's Hajj quota to 211,000.

"Both leaders also agreed to enhance cooperation in a number of sectors," Cabinet Secretary's official website quoted Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi as saying.
