Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) has predicted that inflation will reach 0.07 percent month-to-month and 2.72 percent year-on-year in February 2019.
"On a monthly basis, inflation may reach 0.07 percent. On a yearly basis, inflation may reach 2.72 percent," BI Governor Perry Warjiyo told reporters on Friday, February 8, 2019.
"January's inflation stood at 0.32 percent month-to-month and 2.82 percent year-on-year," he added.Last month, as many as 73 cities experienced inflation. On the other hand, the other nine cities experienced deflation.
According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Tanjung Pandan recorded the highest inflation due to rising fish and chicken meat prices. In the meantime, Tual recorded the highest deflation due to decreasing fish prices and airline fares.
