Govt Urged to Review Trans-Java Toll Road Tariff Scheme

Jakarta: Indonesian Trucking Association (Aptrindo) has demanded the central government to review the tariff scheme of the Trans-Java toll road.

This morning, representatives from Aptrindo held a meeting with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution. During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues including the Trans-Java toll road.

"We think that the tariff scheme is costly. We hope that it could be reviewed," Aptrindo chairman Gemilang Tarigan told reporters after the meeting.

Initiated by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, the Trans-Java toll road will cover all provinces in Java island. This year, the central government will expand the network to the East Java city of Banyuwangi.

"We will wait for the government's response. We may have another meeting," the businessman

Here are the tariffs of some Trans-Java toll road sections:

1. Jakarta (Jakarta-Cikampek)-Semarang: Rp334,500

2. Merak-Jakarta (JORR-Jakarta-Cikampek)-Semarang: Rp397,500

3. Jakarta (Jakarta-Cikampek)-Surabaya (Kejapanan Utama): Rp660,500

4. Merak-Jakarta (JORR-Jakarta-Cikampek)-Surabaya: Rp723,500

5. Jakarta (Jakarta-Cikampek)-Pasuruan (Grati): Rp712,500

6. Merak-Jakarta (JORR-Jakarta-Cikampek)-Pasuruan (Grati): Rp775,500
