NCW Libraries could close its branch in Omak over visitor hostility to its mask requirement.
The library says an increasing number of visitors refuse to wear masks, improperly wear them, or become abusive toward staff who attempt to enforce the mask order.
It says customers have cursed at staff, thrown materials, and even spit on staff when asked to wear a mask.
NCW Libraries released a statement, pleading with visitors to keep the Omak branch open
Washington State rules require mask to be worn in most public indoor settings regardless of vaccination status.
NCW Libraries is based in Wenatchee and operates 30 branch libraries in Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Grant, and Okanogan Counties.
