BellefontainePolice Patch-200Dijoun L.E. Sims, 30, of Indianapolis, Ind., was charged Saturday with resisting arrest, failure to disclose personal information and obstructing official business.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were investigating a suspicious person complaint in the 600 block of north Detroit Street and he was located near Mary Rutan Hospital. He failed to provide his name and took off running after he was advised he would be arrested if he did not. He was located in a wooded area along Irving Avenue where he squared up with clinched fists on an officer.

The officer used a Taser to subdue the suspect. He continued to struggle with officers who had him on the ground.

Once secured in handcuffs, he was checked for injuries and then taken to MRH for treatment as he complained he could not breath.

He was uncooperative with hospital staff and his oxygen level was observed at 100 percent, officers report.

While en route to the Logan County Jail, he continued to be uncooperative. He was placed in a restraint chair at the jail.

• Two men were lodged in jail Sunday after a 2:15 a.m. disturbance outside The Beer Vault, 149 W. Columbus Ave.

Terrance T. Cooper, 36, of Cleveland was charged with criminal trespassing, aggravated menacing and possession of marijuana while Mateo J. Rosales, 38, of 217 N. Madriver St., was charged with criminal trespassing and aggravated menacing.

An officer on patrol observed Rosales take off his shirt and charge at a group of people outside the bar. The officer took Rosales into custody after he threatened the officer.

Bar owner Eric Petty told police the suspect had been kicked out after he continued to harass a female patron.

While dealing with Rosales, officers were made aware that Cooper was among the crowd. Cooper was trespassed from the bar several weeks ago.

He was taken into custody and he too also threatened officers.

Both were continued their belligerence with officers as they were transported to jail. Rosales was placed in a restraint chair after continued with jail staff.

• Shane Slagle, 40, of Bellefontaine, was charged Sunday with criminal trespassing, menacing and persistent disorderly conduct.

Officers were called to the Damascus House, 225 N. Detroit St., at 6:25 a.m. because Slagle was intoxicated and in violation of the shelter’s rules. He refused to leave and police were called to the scene.

He was uncooperative with efforts to escort him to his brother’s residence and he began to threaten officers. He was arrested and lodged in jail.

Motorist lodged on drug charge

Olivia Breiermann-Tilley, 19, of Gillespie, Ill., was charged Friday with possession of methamphetamine after a 1:15 p.m. traffic stop. 

An officer on patrol initiated traffic stop after the defendant turned a northbound car from Main Street onto Northview Drive without using a turn signal.

She consented to a search of the vehicle and a bag containing methamphetamine was found in a center console that was not attached to the floor board of the car.

A grinder with marijuana marijuana residue was found in a door panel pocket along with counterfeit money.

She was lodged in jail.
